Hey friend! Welcome to the blog. This space is for wedding vendors who understand the value of a professionally designed wedding website. It’s for the ladies who know they have something beautiful to offer but don’t know how to show it to the world.
That’s why I created a blog full of wedding website design ideas for wedding pros like you!
Some of my previous blog posts have covered 2024 Website Marketing Trends, Why Professional Web Design is Worth It, How to Keep Your DIY Website Running Smoothly, and more!
But today’s topic might just be my favorite. Because today is all about YOU. I want to show you how to figure out who you are as a business owner, who your ideal client is, and how to use this information to create a website that looks and feels like you!
(Psst. This is called your Brand Personality! And it’s gonna blow your mind).
When I take on a new client, I send you an i n – d e p t h questionnaire about you and your business. And when I say in-depth, I mean it. It starts with questions about you, your hobbies, and what your ideal day looks like. Then, we get into the nitty-gritty.
I want to know everything about your wedding business. Things like:
I ask these tough questions because your website is an extension of you. And it should show your personality and passions!
When your clients land on your page, I want them to feel like they’ve met you. And I want you to feel like you made a great impression. You know how you feel when your kids sleep late so you have time to do your hair and makeup? Yeah, I want you to feel like that.
Because here’s the thing: not everyone who lands on your wedding website will want to work with you. And that is a GOOD thing.
Your ideal client is actually a very small percentage of the population. But those are the ones who set your heart on fire. Those are the weddings that keep you up at night dreaming. And those are the people who you remember and hold on to when things get tough.
Your wedding website should appeal to those people – whoever they are to you!
If you’re an adventure elopement photographer, your website should scare brides dreaming of crystal chandeliers and ball gowns.
In the same way, if you are an ultra-luxury florist who only takes on multi-million dollar weddings, you don’t want DIY brides inquiring!
Your website design should immediately tell site visitors who you are and who you work with. And it should be true to you! We’re talking colors, fonts, patterns, photos, and more. We want your website to make you feel the way your favorite outfit does. Fits perfectly, hugs all the right places, and is comfortable as heck.
Hopefully, you’ve read the first half of this and said, “Kelly, this makes perfect sense to me! Also you’re so funny and beautiful.” (Okay, you don’t have to say that second part. But it wouldn’t hurt either.)
But now, you’re twiddling your thumbs because you don’t know what you want your website to feel like. Maybe you were like me after having my second baby – staring at my closet not knowing what my favorite outfit was because nothing fit right anymore.
So, here are a few questions to help you figure out your brand personality! This is how you want your wedding brand and website to fit and feel!
Some of these are taken directly from my onboarding questionnaire, so you know they’re good. I highly encourage you to grab a journal and jot down your answers to these questions.
There you have it! Whether you’re super confident in your brand, just figuring it out, or revisiting it after a few years in business, these questions are for you. They’ll get you thinking and help you clarify your brand, mission, and ideal client.
Once you know who you are and who you are for, you can design a wedding website that appeals directly to your ideal client and connects you with your dream couples. Ready to get started?
I didn’t introduce myself earlier. I’m Kelly, a brand and web designer for Wedding Pros. I’m super passionate about helping women live a life they love by creating irresistible brands and web designs that help them showcase their skills and connect with their dream clients.
I’ve worked with wedding photographers, florists, planners, coordinators, artists, caterers, and more to develop websites that work for them, not against them.
I’m also a wife to an amazing man who supports my dreams and a mom to two absolutely wild little boys.
I followed my passion and quit teaching to design brands and websites full-time. I took the leap to create a life I loved, and now, I want to help you do the same thing.
So, what do you say?
