In December of 2024, I hit a breaking point with my marketing. You know the feeling—the one where you’re doing everything but somehow still feel like you’re doing nothing? Posting, emailing, networking, tweaking my website… yet my efforts felt scattered. I needed a game plan. So, I hired a marketing consultant, Kelly Potts Co., to map out a strategy for 2025, and let me tell you—it was a game-changer.
But this post isn’t about how amazing the other Kelly is (although, she is great). Instead, I want to share one of the biggest additions I’ve made to my marketing this year: leveraging Interact Quizzes as a lead magnet.
Full disclosure: Interact reached out and asked if I’d be interested in sharing a tutorial on how I set up my quiz in exchange for free access to their platform. But here’s the thing—I was already familiar with Interact and had taken quizzes on their platform before. I knew firsthand how engaging and effective they were, so saying yes was a no-brainer.
This wasn’t about slapping together any old quiz just for the sake of it. I wanted something that felt like my brand, connected with my audience, and—most importantly—helped me grow my email list (because, let’s be real, email marketing is where the magic happens).
So, let’s dive into how I created a quiz that’s not just a fun little brand exercise but an actual lead-generating machine.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen some behind-the-scenes peeks at my rebrand. While I’m not ready to spill all the details just yet, let’s just say… waffles and breakfast foods are very much involved.
With that in mind, I knew my quiz had to be:
After brainstorming, I landed on the perfect topic: “What’s Your Brand’s Breakfast Personality?” It let me blend two of my favorite things—branding and breakfast—and create a quiz that felt completely unique to me.
A little trick I learned: start with the results first. Instead of writing questions and hoping the answers magically connect, I mapped out different brand personalities and categorized them based on brand direction and strategy. Once I had my four result types, it was way easier to reverse-engineer questions that guided people toward the right fit.
I drafted a list of possible questions and narrowed it down to five. Keeping it short and snappy was key—I wanted people to actually finish the quiz! Then, I plugged everything into Interact’s platform, which made it super easy to add questions, customize answers, and connect each one to a specific result.
Could I have stopped after building the quiz? Sure. But I wanted this to be a true lead magnet—one that funneled new people into my email list and nurtured them from the start.
To do that, I integrated my quiz with Flodesk and created four custom welcome sequences, each tailored to a specific quiz result. This way, every person who takes the quiz gets emails that speak directly to their brand style, marketing struggles, and next steps.
A major bonus, Interact connects with Flodesk seamlessly, making it super easy to go from quiz to loyal email list subscriber.
I built the entire quiz, from brainstorming to automation, in just a few hours. And now? I have a lead magnet that’s fun, on-brand, and actually working to grow my audience.
If you’re looking for a creative, low-pressure way to attract more leads in 2025, a quiz could be your secret weapon. And guess what? You don’t need to be a tech wizard or marketing expert to make it happen—just a solid idea and a platform like Interact to bring it to life.
