When I first started my brand and web design business, I worked with any platform that came my way. So I have years of experience working on pretty much every main website-building platform. And while there are many great options, when it comes to Showit vs WordPress, there are a few key differences to consider before choosing your platform.

I almost always recommend Showit to service providers because of its design flexibility, built-in features, and responsiveness between desktop and mobile. Many clients come to me to redowith an idea they love for up, wanting to integrate it into their WordPress website. But often, those designs aren’t possible to build on WordPress unless you incorporate extensive coding, which is difficult to change later on. Plus, WordPress requires external plug-ins for so many things, like your contact form or even an Instagram feed connection!
With Showit, these important elements are built in, meaning you don’t need dozens of plug-ins, which can slow down your site. And the fewer plug-ins you have to navigate, the easier it is to change your design later on! Showit is by far easier to design, modify, and create the user experience your site visitors deserve!

After years of designing on multiple platforms, I’ve really come to love Showit. But don’t just take it from me! If you are planning on DIY-ing your website, take each of the categories below into account before making your decision.
When I talk about ease, I’m not just talking about building your website. I’m talking about maintaining it, too. Your website needs to be able to grow and adapt as your business does! While you’re (hopefully) not rebranding every six months, you’ll likely want to tweak some headlines, add new services, or replace old photos. This can take you five minutes or five hours, depending on how user-friendly your web platform is.
My pick: Showit
Showit has more options when it comes to designing your website. However, there are cases where you might need something super specific that only connects through a WordPress plug-in. If that’s the case, WordPress might be a better option for you. However, Showit is adding more and more features that are closing the gap between what the two platforms offer!
My Pick: Showit
If you’re new to the web design lingo, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is what gets your websites to show up in the right search results. When it comes to SEO, Showit and WordPress are pretty equal. They both have everything you need to build a strong SEO strategy. Although I think the SEO features are easier to find and update using Showit.
My pick: Both are Equal
Ownership is something you should definitely think about before committing to one site or another. WordPress sites require you to host your website outside of WordPress (typically with something like Bluehost). But if you go through an agency to build a WordPress website, they might end up hosting your website on their servers. This makes it nearly impossible to leave that specific agency without losing your website. You will not be able to move your website, and any SEO, backlinks, or traffic you have built up will be tied to that agency.
It also means that you need to consistently back up your website in case your hosting servers go down. This happened to one of my clients and, well, let’s just say I don’t wish that level of stress on anyone. Showit is all self-hosted, meaning they take care of the maintenance for you! No need to worry about backing up your site because they have it under control.
My Pick: Showit

If you haven’t figured it out by now, when it comes to Showit vs WordPress, I will always choose Showit. WordPress isn’t bad, and there are cases where WordPress might be best for your specific business. But Showit simply gives you more. More options, more flexibility, and (most importantly) more peace of mind.
If you’ve been diving down the DIY rabbit hole, I wish you luck. It’s not an easy task! But having a website is absolutely worth it (and dare I say, necessary) for service providers. And having a website you feel proud of? That’s the best feeling in the world.
“Don’t hesitate and just work with Kelly asap! She’s the kind of service provider who truly knows her stuff and delivers on what she promises. I’m very process-minded and notice when client experiences are good versus just okay and Kelly really stood out. She was responsive, completed everything we discussed on time, and made the whole process feel seamless. Beyond just getting things done, she was a delight to work with, which made the experience not only productive but genuinely enjoyable.”
